Amazing! At 106, Alice Sommer Herz radiates joy and love of life. She is more alive than people half her age. Hard as they tried, the Socialist German Workers Party could not break her spirit. Like many Jews of her era she spent World War II in a Nazi camp. Fortunately she and her son survived.

She is a concentration camp survivor who attributes her longevity to her optimism and to music. She played more than a hundred concerts in the Terezín camp and knows that she saved both her own life and the lives of many others in the process. She describes the life of a musician as a privilege because the musician is in constant contact with “The most beautiful thing coming out of mankind”. She laments that there are millions of people in the world who do not know how the magic of music could enrich their lives. Get the DVD at Naxos.
