Yaldeinu will be hosting an evening for mothers and daughters featuring world renowned author and Jewish thinker Naomi Ragen on May 25, 2009 at the Sephardic Kehilla Center.  The evening will include her keynote, an elegant dessert reception and book signing sponsored by Indigo.  We are expecting well over 300 people. A Jewish Woman’s Voice: Literature and Faith

Naomi will be sharing her personal story – how she was taken in as a scholarship student in an Orthodox Hebrew Day school from a poor family, and how that experience changed her life, and made her the writer she is today. The talk will also include her aliyah, and experiences working for women’s issues, war and terrorism, and her view on the activism Jewish women can take in our collective communities.

Mark Steyn has been forced to defend himself against charges of hate speech in three provinces of the Dominion for publishing statistics about Islam and Muslims. His thought provoking book, America Alone: The End of the World as We Know It, contains a wealth of useful demographic data. The book is a best seller in the United States. In Canada you have to search the dark corners at the back of the store to find it and in Britain it is outlawed. Steyn’s thesis is disturbing to a culture that rgularly runs television ads demanding “DIVERSITY NOW!” If you missed the book, you can get a synopsis, or perhaps just a slice, of the relevant demographics by watching the video above. There is no attribution to Mark Steyn, but there most likely should be. The religious twist at the end is an improvisation by the video producer.

The “brilliant” Charles Krauthammer got it wrong. Fox News talking head Fred Barnes provided insight with the same depth of understanding he demonstrates daily on Special Report with Brit Hume. Hugh Hewitt preached the bailout gospel with the same tenacity he usually reserves for good causes, like electing Sarah Palin. On the Left, Nancy Pelosi did not think $700 billion was enough so she threw in $150 billion of pork.

65% of the American people opposed the bailout, but the political and media elites on both sides of the aisle demanded “BAILOUT NOW!” When the House Republicans managed to block the bailout legislation on the first attempt and the markets reacted positively, Krauthammer explained that it would be a big mistake to assume that no bailout was necessary. Now that the bailout has been signed into law by the lame duck in the White House and the markets continue to collapse, Krauthammer and his fellow elites will no doubt argue that the bailout was simply not large enough. The Random House boys must be proud. Surrendering preemptively, they have temporarily averted a nasty incident at their corporate headquarters. Publisher Gibson Square was not as fortunate. Their London offices were firebombed by members of the Religion of Peace in revenge for the publishing of a novel about Muhammad’s love life.

AFP describes the book by American author, Sherry Jones, as “a fictional account of the Prophet’s relationship with his youngest bride Aisha.” “His youngest bride” is AFP spin for “child.” The “Prophet” is AFP’s way of doing Dawah, proselytizing for Islam. In the AFP style sheets “Prophet” means Muhammad, as opposed to, say, Jeremiah.

Police arrested three men on Saturday in connection with a fire at the offices of the publisher of a book about the Prophet Mohammed and his child bride. The men, aged 22, 30 and 40, were arrested in north London under anti-terrorism legislation after the fire on Saturday morning at Gibson Square’s offices. Let’s see. We are under attack by an enemy whose stated goal is to kill us or assimilate us into his “superior” civilization. Should he be successful, our civilization, the freest and most prosperous the world has ever seen, will come to an end. This enemy is not the hapless dreamer he is made out to be by Liberal academic, media and political classes. Other civilizations crossed his path in the past with devastating consequences.
