Global Warming? Global Cooling? What’s up with the weather? In addition to seasonal variability, caused by the angle of Earth’s axis to the plain of the sun, weather changes over time. Many factors contribute to a planet’s climate patterns. Some of these factors are: distance from the sun, heat generated by the sun, cooling of the interior, percentage covered by water and composition of the atmosphere. Because these factors vary over time climate will always change. Get used to it! CO2 has little to do with it.

Avatar is the kind of movie you get when you liberate a bunch of crazed Hollywood lefties from all financial constraints. With a $240 million budget, James Cameron managed to squeeze  every last Marxist fantasy into three hours of boring propaganda.

With the plot conveniently available on the Internet and no first rank stars, the balk of the money went into producing the special effects, with very impressive results. Not impressive enough, however, to offset the endless flow of anti-American, anti-capitalist, global warming claptrap.

The plot goes something like this. Capitalism, global warming and war destroy earth. Capitalists, aided by the Military, try to do the same to the beautiful, breath-taking planet Pandora. They are after – wait for it – unobtainium, because it sells for $20 million dollars a kilogram on the open market- about the same as a Hollywood star. We’ll never know why Earthmen need  unobtainium or why they are willing to pay so much for it. Apparently, it is just one of those things evil capitalist do. Read more >

Nature Magazine, the international weekly journal of science, is at it again. In the 1940’s the magazine published opinion pieces in support of purging Jews from academia. Now they run opinion pieces in defense of Al Gore’s scam. Normal people recognize that the East-Anglia emails prove, beyond any shadow of doubt, that climatologists and politicians are the scum of the earth, conspiring to rob the rest of us to the benefit of their own cash flow. Now, make sure you are sitting down, the significance of the emails according to Nature is that:

1. They were obtained “unethically.”
2. They prove that scientists are human.
3. They demonstrate that scientists are smart.
4. They demonstrate that normal people are ignorant boobs.
5. They are a call for decent people to support the East-Anglia fascists!
6. They prove that “something is happening”
7. You must give your money to poor people and scientists, or something.
8. The “denialists” must be defeated!
9. Scientists should avoid getting caught.
10. The scam must go on.

This opinion piece in Nature falls into the “as the stomach turns” category.

Climatologists under pressure

Stolen e-mails have revealed no scientific conspiracy, but do highlight ways in which climate researchers could be better supported in the face of public scrutiny.

The e-mail archives stolen last month from the Climatic Research Unit at the University of East Anglia (UEA), UK, have been greeted by the climate-change-denialist fringe as a propaganda windfall (see page 551). To these denialists, the scientists’ scathing remarks about certain controversial palaeoclimate reconstructions qualify as the proverbial ’smoking gun’: proof that mainstream climate researchers have systematically conspired to suppress evidence contradicting their doctrine that humans are warming the globe. Environment minister Jairam Ramesh asserted on Sunday in the presence of visiting US secretary of state Hillary Clinton that India would never take legally binding commitments to cut down on emissions.

“India’s position is clear and categorical that we are simply not in a position to take any legally binding emissions reductions,” Ramesh said at conference on climate change he addressed along with the visiting secretary of state to mark the opening of ITC’s Green Centre building in Gurgaon.

His remarks came against the backdrop of growing pressure on India and China from the US-led bloc of developed countries to take quantifiable targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh alluded to the growing US insistence that India relent on its stand not to accept targets.

Ramesh drew the red lines clearly. “There is simply no case for the pressure that we, who have been among the lowest emitters per capita, face to reduce emissions. And as if this pressure was not enough, we also face the threat of carbon tariffs on our exports to countries such as yours.”

President Bush reacted energetically to the 9/11 attacks on America and delivered serious tax cuts early in his first term. Other than that, he demonstrated criminal incompetence on all issues important to the Conservative movement. From borders, language and culture to fiscal responsibility, he made things worse. He appointed Liberals to all senior positions, including Secretary of State and Secretary of Defense, he betrayed the economy, he betrayed Israel, and now…

Fiscal Conservatives have accused him of spending like a drunken sailor, hastily apologizing to drunken sailors, who could not possibly spend as irresponsibly as the Bush administration.

Evangelicals have been alienated by the administration’s betrayal of Jewish rights in the Holy Land. His personal friendship with the Saudi oil tics has had the same effect as rubbing salt on open wounds. His inability to recognize the global Jihad and effectively combat it will be his most devastating legacy.

His stealth attempt to grant amnesty to illegal aliens and open the borders would have laid the foundation for the eventual disappearance of the United States. Needless to say, it angered everyone. A massive Conservative grass roots mobilization stopped the nonsense, temporarily.

Family Values and Judicial Conservatives vigorously opposed the appointment of a Liberal Bush crony, Harriet Miers, to the Supreme Court. His previous appointee, John Roberts, was a moderate originalist with many Liberal friends to provide character references. Conservatives managed to kill the Miers nomination and forced Bush to select a true Conservative originalist, Sam Alito, whose elderly mother lovingly stated on camera, “Of course he is against abortions. I raised him well.”

One can go on and on, but let’s get to the latest demonstration of Bush’s incompetence and Liberal tendencies. Evidently, the President is now ready to embrace Al Gore’s massive government power grab and vast erosion of individual freedoms, under the guise of combating ‘temperature change’. The Washington Times reports that Bush is preparing a global warming initiative. Idiot!

She said the administration’s discussions, both internally and with Congress, are building toward an expected debate on climate change in the Senate in June and toward the next G-8 meeting in July, when the U.S. would like to have a more specific conversation about goals for cutting greenhouse-gas emissions.

At the end of this week, U.S. officials will be in Paris for a meeting with officials from other major economic powers, where climate change is expected to be on the table. Sources in the administration and in Congress say this meeting explains the White House push.

Algore made a fortune sitting on the Boards of Apple and Google. In celebration of the Goracle’s Nobel Peace Prize, Apple put up the following announcement on their home page:

Al has put his heart and soul, and much of his life during the past several years, into alerting and educating (lying to, Ed.) us all on climate crisis. We are bursting with pride for Al and this historic recognition of his global contributions.

Giving Algore an Oscar, an Emmy, and a Nobel, for one lousy science fiction film, proves, beyond doubt, that much of the world has gone mad. Fortunately, there are still some sane voices.

Not everyone is celebrating Al Gore’s Nobel Peace Prize for his global warming efforts. Retired climatologist Timothy Ball tells Cybercast News Service that Gore’s movie, An Inconvenient Truth, is a wonderful piece of propaganda that relies on visual imagery and gimmickry.

Earlier this week a British judge ruled that the movie had at least nine major errors and could not be shown to students without balancing information. Thursday, the BBC alleged that Gore knew his movie presented false facts, but was afraid any uncertainty would fuel global warming skeptics.

Sure, anybody can control temperatures inside, but what about outside? Outside is much bigger than inside and many people spend at least part of their day there. Temperature change outside can inconvenience millions of people. Women, minorities, and the poor are hit particularly hard. Politicians have been ignoring the phenomena, pretending that it does not exist, even though temperature change is settled science. Pretty much all scientists agree that temperature change is real. There is a consensus, except for Joe Sacrilege, Professor of Middle Eastern Studies at Rio Linda University. Crazy Joe, as his friends call him, is a temperature change denier.

Since each degree of global temperature change inflicts a measurable amount of suffering, we have decided to organize the Foundation Against Temperature Change Outside (FATCO). The goal of the Foundation will be to increase the level of awareness of temperature change and take concrete steps to reduce temperature change by one degree every ten years. FATCO will establish a temperature change misery index, modeled after the Jimmy Carter misery index. The index will show people at a glance the degree of suffering they will experience if they step outside. Some FATCO insiders have suggested that the index should be called “thermometer”. Perhaps, we’ll see.
