To Nakba or Not to Nakba?

The Knesset passed the “Nakba Law” in its initial first round of voting yesterday. The law would make it a crime to commemorate Israel’s existence as a catastrophe or “Nakba”, an event that Nakba Nitwits think should be reversed. The Israeli Left is hysterical. If people cannot call Israel’s existence a catastrophe in the middle of a war, then how can they be expected to be good leftists and how will the country ever be annihilated? (Watch the video to get the article)

Haaretz is leading the hysteria. It denounces the law all this week as “racist.” What is not racist? When Haaretz’ Gideon Levy and Amira Hass celebrate terrorist attacks and call for Israel to be exterminated. Read more >

Bogdan Strenger Inspires Pogroms

From 1648 to 1649, Officer Bogdan Chmielnicki, with an army of Russian Cossacks, local peasants and the support of the Tatar Khan of the Crimea, killed more than 300,000 Jews in the Ukraine. That wave of destruction is considered the first modern pogrom. From 1939 to 1945, Corporal Adolph Hitler, with an army of Nazis, sympathizers, and the deafening silence of the whole world, exterminated six million Jews in Europe. From 2005 to 2009, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, President of Iran, worked feverishly to build a couple of nukes with which to kill six million Jews in Israel. From 2008 to 2009, Comrade Carlo Strenger, Professor of Psychology at Tel Aviv University, with an army of local secularists, inspired pogroms in Ramat Aviv to scare away Orthodox Jews. (Added by Mordecai)

I would hereby like to nominate Professor Carlo Strenger, from the department of psychology at Tel Aviv University, for the Philistine of the Year Award.

Strenger is a far-leftist hater of Israel and Zionism who regularly explains to Haaretz readers why Israel is a horrible state unworthy of existence, but the Hamas is really misunderstood (A collection of Strengerism can be found here). But today Strenger goes beyond that to support hooligan violence against Orthodox Jews! Really!

The background to this is the continuing campaign of intimidation and violence by ultra-secularists in Ramat Aviv, where Strenger lives and where his Tel Aviv University is located, against Orthodox Jews. The ultra-secularists claim there is a cabal by the Orthodox to “take over” the neighborhood. You know, like the Elders of Zion. Read more >

Bra Burning Chicks for Peace in Palestine

The International Women’s Commission is yet another of those bash-Israel NGOs (non-governmental organizations) that pretend to be pursuing peace neutrally, whereas in reality they are promoting the agenda of Palestinian genocidal terrorists. It is different from the countless other groups because it consists of women. Naturally, it wants to achieve a peace that involves creation of a new state of “Palestine” and naturally it refuses to acknowledge any right at all by Israel to defend its own civilians from Islamofascist barbarism and Palestinian terror, not even its right to protect Israeli women. Its “narrative” of the Arab-Israeli conflict can be read here and is identical to that of the Hamas, except when it comes to proclamations about how important and nice women are. (Gloria Steinem is an honorary member, ed.)

What is noteworthy is what took place at a recent mahjong klatch of these gyno-racists. Even more significant is the fact that the goings on there were exposed and implicitly criticized by none other than Akiva Eldar in Haaretz on May 12, 2009. Eldar is a far-leftist anti-Israel fanatic and the only good thing ordinarily that can be said about him is that he is less openly anti-Semitic and less openly advocating Israel’s annihilation than his two Haaretz colleagues: Gideon Levy and Amira Hass. Th Rain In Spain Falls Mainly On the Slain

Hamas, Law, Spain, Terrorism · By

Spain has been fighting against Basque separatist terrorism for decades and especially against the “ETA” organization, which seeks secession of the Basque territories from Spain. ETA is considered responsible for the deaths of more than 800 people in Spain, a number that pales in comparison with Palestinian barbarism. (And Spain has a population almost six times that of Israel.)

Spain’s anti-terror campaign made a mockery out of any concern for human rights. Collateral damage and injury to innocent bystanders were regular and common features of the campaign. Anti-terror paramilitary fighters and forces routinely engaged in torture of captured terrorists. Numerous death squads sought out the terrorists and their supporters, quietly exterminating them behind the scenes. The government pretended to have no knowledge of their actions. Government anti-terror personnel kidnapped terrorists and held them without any regard for habeas corpus. Anti-terror militias routinely crossed the borders and snatched terrorists hiding in neighboring countries or killed them there. Bombs were planted in order to kill the terrorists. Many of those killed or tortured were in reality not even members of or connected with any terrorist groups. Many of the anti-terror operations took place in violation of international law and even of national laws. To suppress the terror, the government threatened and pressured other countries to crack down on the refugees and to deport them. Read more >

How Dare a Jew Retaliate?

Antisemitism, Israel · By

So what is the lead front page banner headline today in Haaretz, the Palestinian newspaper printed in Hebrew?

It is that a Palestinian woman and her baby daughter were injured when a “settler” threw a rock at their car. The headline reads in Hebrew, “We drove past Yizhar (Jewish settlement) and suddenly a rock hit us.” The story is accompanied by a photo of a baby in Tel Aviv Jewish hospital bed with a bandage on her noggin. The story without the photo is on Haaretz English web site here.

So why is this a front page story? In Israel not a day goes by without numerous rock throwing incidents in which Arabs throw rocks at Jewish cars. Not all are in the “occupied territories” and parts of the Galilee are notorious scenes for such attacks. Most of these never get mentioned at all in Haaretz and none are ever on the front page. Jews have died as a result of some of these attacks. When a dog bites a man it is not news, but….

Well, it is not even clear that the person who threw the stone is a Jew.

The location is near Nablus, and Arabs commonly stone cars there. The source for the claim that it was a Jew throwing the stone? A passing Palestinian – now THERE is a reliable news source! Of course it is not impossible that a Jew got tired of his own car getting his own vehicle stoned and lost his temper. But how dare a Jew retaliate!

Gosh, You Think?

Gosh – you think this news event has anything at all to do with the fact that the previous bulldozer murderer did NOT have his house demolished by the Olmert junta nor were his family members stripped of their survivor benefits by the National Insurance Institute (Israel’s social security)? Haaretz Discovers Good Lynching

Israel, Law, Terrorism · By

Lynching AbstractAH, Haaretz, the Palestinian newspaper printed in Hebrew, the daily whose idea of “pluralism” is based on Brezhnev’s Pravda, the newspaper in which Israel (and America) are always wrong and the Islamofascists are always right, the newspaper of Post-Zionism and Post-Judaism, where Israeli survival is an archaic idea whose time has past.

Haaretz, or Al-Ard in Arabic, has for many years adopted the quaint custom of anti-Semitic newspapers elsewhere in referring to suicide bombers and mass murderers of Jews as “activists” and “militants.” Yet suddenly, this week the “T” word appears on Haaretz’ front page. “T” as in terrorist.

How come? Well, the news story concerns Eden Natan-Zada, a mentally ill Israeli soldier (actually a deserter) who shot up Shfaram in October 2005 and killed several Druse and Arabs. Shfaram is about 40 minutes outside Haifa. He was then attacked by locals in the crowd who lynched him, killing him. Read more >

Left Attacks Olmert Over Friedmann

Legacy 2008 · By

Many people in Israel are asking why the leftist establishment is now suddenly going after Olmert with its subservient Attorney General’s office and its hegemony over the media. After all, for years the Left’s stooges were content to sit back and turn a blind eye to Olmert’s personal corruption because he was carrying out the Left’s agenda.

The Attorney General and media in Israel only uncover “sleaze” and dirt and corruption in politicians whose politics they dislike. That is why they just can’t ever seem to take notice of all the personal corruption of Ehud Barak and Amram Mitzna. (And we all recall the whitewashing of Ezer Weizmann!) But let Bibi and his wife remove some trinkets and ashtrays without permission from the PM’s residence and the media have a field day! Or let Aryeh Deri fail to provide documented explanations for all of $40,000 out of his funds used to purchase his home….

So why the sudden determination to drive Olmert from office? It is obviously not a sudden squeamishness about bribery on the part of the stooges of the Left.

One explanation being whispered about Israel, and one I find highly plausible, is that the Left and its captive institutions are upset at Daniel Friedmann, Olmert’s Minister of Justice, and his determination to end judicial tyranny in Israel. The Left is in favor of judicial tyranny because it allows it to impose its political agenda on Israel through the courts without the inconvenience of actually having to win elections. The Left has placed Friedmann in its sites and is willing to topple Olmert to get what it wants.

Fox Gains on CNN’s Naked Quest

Legacy 2008 · By

One of the best reasons to switch to FOX News is CNN’s Richard Quest. A know-it-all “business” journalist, who could not pass a pop quiz in any economics course I have ever taught. An unctuous mimic of Uriah Heep, he is an insult to the intelligence of CNN viewers, someone who reminds me of “Martin” in Bart Simpson’s class.

Now you will never know this from watching CNN or reading its web site, cause it ain’t there, but Richard Quest was arrested Friday for running around Central Park very high on drugs, naked, and reportedly with a length of rope wrapped around his neck and also attached by the other end to that part of his anatomy that the Moyel would have attended to on the 8th day. Yahoo! News reports the sordid affair.

A New York judge ordered CNN reporter Richard Quest to undergo six months of counseling on Friday after Quest was arrested in Central Park for possession of a controlled substance, his lawyer said.

[ ... ]

He was arrested at 3:40 a.m. on Friday in New York’s Central Park for being in the park after a 1 a.m. curfew.

Police discovered a plastic bag containing what was believed to be methamphetamine in his pocket, police spokesman John Grimphel said.

Let me say that I have been in Central Park many a time, including for 60s anti-Vietnam War protests back when I was a young whipper snapper, and never once was I naked, although I spent most of the antiwar protests hoping that some coeds near me would take off their tops. [I am too old now to remember exactly why.] No, that is not me in the movie singing the Aquarius song.

Now I find this story quite inspiring. Not the part about the drugs, but the part about the rope.

In fact, I think we could probably produce peace in the Middle East if we adopt the idea. See, just attack ropes with one end around the neck and the other end around the other end, to all Israeli politicians implicated in the “peace process,” and set them loose to run around the Ramat Gan park at 3:00 in the AM, but making sure that THIS time CNN and not just Reuters is there to get the photo shoots.

And everything else will follow!

PC Passover Celebrates Gay, Faminist, Palestinian Liberation

Legacy 2008 · By

In recent years, Passover has undergone a make-over in the American Jewish non-Orthodox community, one that has converted it largely into a holiday devoted to celebrating human rights, protesting a long list of human rights abuses and promoting fashionable causes. The remake seems designed to make Passover a cosmopolitan holiday, one with a universal message in which all can join, in essence the Jewish answer to the Declaration of the Rights of Man of the French Revolution.

Back in the 1960s, a series of Political Correctness Haggadot (plural of Haggada) were written, in which the message of Passover was turned into a celebration of the civil rights movement in the United States. Arthur Waskow, the guru of the *Tikkun*-”Renewal” crowd, wrote at the time a Black Liberation Passover Haggadah, celebrating black militants like the Black Panthers, who were themselves coincidentally calling at the same time for the annihilation of Jews. Later Political Correctness Haggadot were devoted to homosexual rights, women’s liberation, and assorted other faddish causes, not least of which was Palestinian “liberation”. No doubt, this year will see Defend Iran and Help Obama *Haggadot* or No War for Oil ones.

“Multicultural” Passover seders became fashionable in some circles, in which the seder became a mixture of acclamations for human rights and freedom, taken from a wide variety of non-Jewish sources.

As yet another illustration, a few years back the Passover cause celebre of American Jewish liberals was Tibet (my guess is it will be this year again), with Tibetan officials invited to Passover seders, and where the leftist Religious Action Center (RAC) of the Reform synagogue movement called on Jews to hold Tibetan-freedom Passover seders in solidarity with Tibet. The RAC is devoted to the proposition that Jewish values are nothing more and nothing less than this year’s leftist political fads, including gay “marriage”, supporting affirmative action apartheid programs, and opposing all welfare reform. Its head, Rabbi David Saperstein, was quoted with approval a few years back by the American Communist Party’s weekly newspaper.
