The idiots writing Indymedia comments portray him as a victim, but Navy Seal Michael Monsoor was a real American hero. He made the ultimate sacrifice defending Western Civilization on the Iraq front. Throwing himself on a grenade to save three comrades during combat in Ramadi, he will posthumously receive the Congressional Medal of Honor, the highest award for valor in action against an enemy force which can be bestowed upon an individual serving in the Armed Services of the United States. The medal will be presented to his family by the President in the name of Congress, on April 8, 2008.
Journalist Michael Fumento, who wrote The New Band of Brothers, an article about being in combat with Mansoor’s unit in Ramadi, reported the award on March 15, 2008.
SEAL and Petty Officer 2nd Class Mike Monsoor will posthumously receive the nation’s highest award, the Medal of Honor. It will be given to his parents in a White House ceremony April 8. The next day there will be a Hall of Heroes Dedication followed by a Navy Memorial Dedication. He died in Sept. 2006 after throwing himself on a hand grenade and thereby probably saving the lives of three of his comrades.
Grab a box of tissues and watch the video to remember Michael Monsoor and get a glimpse of the kind of man he was.
We will win the war against the Islamofascists because of men like Michael Monsoor, Lt. Michael P. Murphy and Ben Kobani and yes, John Sidney McCain. Men like Barack Hussein Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton, who whine, complain and navel gaze ad infinitum, just get in the way, temporarily.
