On June 22, 1940, Hitler accepted the surrender of the French government at a ceremony in Compiegne, France. Understanding the power of symbolism, he insisted on holding the ceremony in the same railroad car in which Germany signed the 1918 armistice. Under the terms of surrender, two thirds of France was occupied by the Germans. The French army was disbanded and France bore the cost of the German invasion.

On September 2, 1945, Mamoru Shigemitsu and Yoshijiro Umezu, representing Emperor Hirohito, boarded the USS Missouri to meet General Douglas MacArthur and sign Japan’s Instrument of Surrender. On hand to watch the surrender ceremony was General Jonathan Mayhew Wainwright IV, who on May 6, 1942, as Allied commander, surrendered the Philippines to an overwhelming Japanese invasion force. General Wainwright was held prisoner in Manchuria and tortured until his liberation by the Red Army in August 1945. MacArthur, who understood the power of symbolism, arranged for Wainwright to return to the Philippines and receive the surrender of the local Japanese commander, Lieutenant-General Tomoyuki Yamashita.

Bush, blind to the power of symbolism, went to Ramallah and participated in what can only be understood as a surrender ceremony. If a picture is worth a thousand words then the picture below says it all. The dude in the photo towering over Bush, is no other than the inventor of the Palestinian people, the late Yassir Arafat. When the master terrorist was alive, Bush wouldn’t come within ten miles of him. Now, the President pilgrims to Arafat’s temple, worships under his image, and sacrifices Jews there.

Bush on his visit to Ramallah invaded the PA offices with 1500 Secret Service Agents backed up by IDF and Shaback from Israel.

The Palestinian police and security agencies were cut out of the security for Bush. The IDF and Americans created a sterile zone one mile deep. The riots that are shown on the news happened outside this zone. PA police were not allowed in this sterile zone.

What, Mr. President, you don’t trust your peace partners?

If you will not put your life on the line, how can you put my children’s life on the line?
