ddd3_AWhile visiting Israel last week we witnessed the strange controversy over the Ga-a-va (Pride) Parade in Jerusalem. Two thousand gays and lesbians organized a parade in the world’s only Jewish Holy City. Orthodox Jews who live there decided to stop them. Has there ever been a Gay Pride Parade in a Muslim city? Mecca? How about Teheran? Baghdad? Cairo? Karachi? If you answered no, no, no, no, and no, consider yourself well informed.

We watched an interview with Dana Olmert (on the right in the photo), the Prime Minister’s daughter, a proud Lesbian and militant Jew-hating Lefty committed to an Arab victory in ‘Palestine’. From ynet circa June 2006: PM’s daughter protests Gaza killings

In the interview Dana was the aggressive lesbian. For balance Channel 10 presented a ‘moderate’ lesbian who claimed that the parade can be held in Tel-Aviv, but she wasn’t sure.

According to Dana a Gay Pride Parade in Jerusalem is necessary, not to satiate her cravings for air time on the evening news, but to save the poor opressed orthodox gays. From ynet: PM’s daughter slams lack of support for gay parade

The parade did take place on June 21, 2007 at 5:00 P.M. and was completed peacefully, primarily due to a clear thinking bureaucrat in the Fireman’s Union who called a strike. This forced the parade to be limited to a 500 meter stroll. Everybody declared victory and went home. The evening news opened with 15 minutes coverage of the Parade and worked its way down to trivial things like the “situation” in Gaza, where the Hamas gang killed off the local Fatah gang.

After all this we were left wondering what it must be like in the Olmert home when the family gets together. It turns out that Dana is not the only crazy in the family.
